Porco zinc mine
Report summary
Porco is the oldest Pb-Zn-Ag mine in the Latin American region. The Spaniards had started the operation by 1545. Currently Porco produces Zn/Ag and Pb/Ag concentrates from its underground mine and from third party ore. Production capacity has progressively increased from 150t/d to 1.5kt/d. In 2022 Porco was operating an underground Pb-Zn-Ag mine and a 1.5kt/d ore concentrator (nominal capacity) but operated at a reduced capacity due to lack of ore.
