Report summary
The Potrerillos smelter was originally commissioned as a conventional reverberatory furnace smelter in 1927. The concentrate treatment capacity was 100kt/a. By 1983 concentrate treatment capacity had increased to 250kt/a. A Teniente converter was added in 1985 and a system to inject concentrate through the tuyères was introduced in 1986.
