Radomiro Tomic SxEw copper mine
Report summary
Future production in the RT Division was expected to come from 3 sources: Conventional leaching and/or chloride leaching, copper from ore sent to the Chuqui concentrator and copper from the new concentrator. The 2023 PND contains 528Mt of oxide ore with 0.36%CuT and 0.11%Cu soluble for conventional leaching; 1,876Mt of mixture reserves with 0.49%Cu. Part of this ore will go to the chloride leaching where $1.7Bn of capex was expected to be spent and the other part to the 100-120kt/d ore new concentrator that will have a capex of $2.5 billion excluding the desalinated plant that will be outsourced. The chloride leaching project was expected to start producing copper in 2025 and the new mill in the H2 of 2030.
