Report summary
The Rainy River mine is a large-scale gold and silver operation located in northwestern Ontario, Canada. It consists of a maturing open-pit and an expanding underground operation that targets a gold-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit. From startup in September 2017 to late 2022, the mill was fed exclusively by the open pit. Since 2022, higher-grade underground ore has supplemented feed, while lower-grade open-pit material is stockpiled for future processing. Coeur Mining acquired the mine in March 2026 as part of its New Gold acquisition.
