Red Chris gold mine
Report summary
Red Chris is a copper-gold mine in British Columbia, Canada. The mine uses conventional drill blast open pit mining methods to feed a 30kt/d processing plant to produce a copper concentrate. After mine and mill commissioning had been achieved in early 2015, Red Chris declared commercial production from July 2015. Newcrest Mining acquired a 70% interest in the Red Chris mine on 15th August 2019, and became the operator. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
