Report summary
Round Mountain is an open pit operation that utilises conventional mining methods. Ore is processed by gravity concentration or heap leaching (reusable and dedicated pads) depending on mineralogy and grade. Kinross started operating the mine in 2003 and, in 2016, achieved full ownership by purchasing Barrick Gold's remaining 50% stake. In 2024, gold equivalent production at the mine was 215koz.
