Report summary
Sasa is an underground zinc-lead mine in North Macedonia, owned 100% by Central Asia Metals (CAML). The mine opened in 1966 under state ownership but closed in 2002. After Solway Investment Group acquired it in 2005, operations restarted in 2006 and the plant was re-equipped with a modern flotation circuit, allowing separate zinc and lead concentrates to be produced instead of a single bulk concentrate. Solway sold the mine to Orion Mine Finance Group in November 2015, and CAML acquired it in November 2017. In 2025, Sasa produced 17.9 kt of zinc and 25.2 kt of lead in concentrate, and its life of mine now runs to 2034.
