Savuka (from 1998) (Closed) gold mine
Report summary
The property is located in the Gauteng Province, 18km south of Carletonville Town and 70km southwest of Johannesburg. Savuka is one of the world's deepest mines, with the tertiary shaft reaching a depth of nearly 4km. Based on further studies, access to the ore-body from the nearby TauTona mine was selected as the preferred and more efficient option. Production from 2013 onwards has been consolidated and reported under TauTona.
