The Séguéla project is located in the Worodougou region of the Woroba, Côte d’Ivoire. The site is located approximately 270km from Yamoussoukro and almost 500km from Abidjan via national roads. The Feasibility Study released in April 2021 details a nine-year mine life, with gold production over the mine life totalling over 1Moz. It is expected that mining will consist of a series of open pits, exploiting the near surface mineralisation at the Antenna deposit with supplemental feed from the additional satellite deposits. Mined ore will report to the processing plant which will have an initial capacity of 1.25Mtpa, increasing to 1.57Mtpa from the third year of the operation. In September 2021, Fortuna decided to proceed with the construction of an open-pit gold mine, and, in May 2023, Séguéla poured its first gold.
