Shaoguan zinc smelter project
Report summary
The ISF plant at Shaoguan has recently been affected by a number of environmental issues. These saw the plant closed during late 2010 and only restarted in a limited manner in September 2012. Following this the owner of the Shaoguan ISF plant, Shenzhen Zhongjin Lingnan Nonfemet Company Ltd, announced that it would look to build a new electrolytic smelter on a new site outside of the urban area of Shaoguan. Commissioning was originally planned for 2015, but this could now happen in 2019.
