Silvertip is a high-grade silver-lead-zinc carbonate replacement deposit. The mine has underground operations and ore is processed in the former Sa Dena Hes concentrator which has been relocated to the site. The mill has a capacity of 1000t/d producing separate zinc and lead concentrates. The majority of the silver reports to the lead concentrate. Production started during the fourth quarter of 2016. The operation was suspended in September 2016. In October 2017, Coeur Mining purchased the Silvertip from JDS Silver. The mine restarted production in March 2018 and it reached commercial production on September. The mine is on track to achieve and average 750tpd by the end of the year and 1,000tpd in early 2019.
