Simberi gold mine

Simberi is located within the Tabar group of Islands, New Ireland Province,PNG, 900 kilometres from the capital, Port Moresby. Ore at Simberi is sourced from seven open pits: Sorowar, Samat North, Samat South, Samat East, Pigput, Pigibo, and Botlu South. Simberi is operated as a fly-in fly-out operation. Access to the property is by air with regular flights from a 1400m airstrip (located 3km from the process plant) to Port Moresby, Kavieng and Rabaul.
