Simberi is located within the Tabar group of Islands, New Ireland Province, PNG, 900 kilometres from the capital, Port Moresby. Ore at Simberi is sourced from seven open pits: Sorowar, Samat North, Samat South, Samat East, Pigput, Pigibo, and Botlu South. Simberi is operated as a fly-in fly-out operation. Access to the property is by air with regular flights from a 1400m airstrip (located 3km from the process plant) to Port Moresby, Kavieng and Rabaul.
