Taborny (formerly Neryungri) is an open pit, heap leach operation located in the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, 200km from the town of Chara and 125km northeast of the Ikabya station on the BAM railway line. Access to the property is by road via all-weather roads. On-site diesel generators provide the power supply. Air access is also available by helicopter. The accompanying analysis shows production from 2008 onward after NordGold purchased Neryungri from the Arlan investment company. The climate is extreme continental with summer and winter temperatures in excess +/-40C. There is snow cover between October and May, and the production cycle is seasonally dependent. The cyanide spray used in heap leaching cannot penetrate frozen ore and as a result, ore crushing and stockpiling is carried out between May and September while the majority of gold production occurs between July and December.
