Velardeña operates (2022) a poly-metallic underground mine and a 2.8Mt/a ore mill. The project restarted in May 2013 and included an underground mine and a poly-metallic 6kt/d ore concentrator. The capital investment was US$204.0 million. In 2016 Peñoles authorised an expansion of the mill from 6kt/d to 7kt/d ore. Completion of this project was expected for the second half of 2018. In 2019 the concentrator was marginally expanded from 7kt/d to 8kt/d ore. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
