Report summary
The history of smelting at this site dates to 1903 when a horizontal distillation plant was built for zinc production using local concentrates. The present plant was built in the early 1930s. In 1956 the roasting plant was converted from multiple hearth roasters to Russian fluid bed roasters. A new acid plant was built in 1975.
