Volkswagen (VW) recently announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Chinese lithium producer Ganfeng Lithium. The agreement ties in with VW’s 10-year electrification plan where over the same period, Ganfeng will supply lithium to VW and its suppliers. We take a look at the implications of this huge deal on lithium demand relative to demand from the global EV sector. Ganfeng's current and future supply is also considered.
