Report summary
Jiulong Wanbo New Materials Technology was established in 2019 as a Chongqing Bosai Group subsidiary, aiming to produce alumina. In 2022, the company commissioned the 3.6Mtpa greenfield alumina refinery in Wanzhou District, Chongqing City. The total investment of the project was US$1.1 bn. The operations uses coal as the primary source for energy, which may become a limiting factor in the future if carbon emissions become a liability.
