The Woodlark Gold Project is located on Woodlark Island, which is 613km away from Port Moresby and is commonly accessed by ports. The construction of an airstrip for regional aircraft will be a part of the project. As of December 2020, Geopacific Resources has obtained all of the necessary mining and environmental permits for the Woodlark gold project. It is considered shovel-ready. The project will be an open pit operation with multiple shallow pits to extract primarily high grade material for mill feed. First gold is expected in late Q4 2022. The process plant will employ a conventional crushing and milling circuit with gravity concentration and CIL tanks following to produce gold doré.
