Four lessons from women in exploration leadership
Report summary
The number of women leading oil and gas exploration divisions is on the rise. Wood Mackenzie's Julie Wilson interviewed eight of these inspiring leaders. They rose to their powerful positions despite the structural obstacles and systemic bias faced by women. The primary reasons for their success are their individual drive and exceptional talent. But they also shared advice that any of us can follow. The personal stories of these leaders are not meant to address policy deficits, but instead provide tools to mitigate and help overcome the challenges. Their advice fell into four broad themes. Detailed and specific advice, with examples from the careers of the eight executives, provide powerful tools for anyone at any point in their career.
