Mozambique Mozambique exploration basin
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The Mozambique Basin is passive margin basin situated in southern Mozambique. It extends from onshore western Mozambique offshore to water depths up to 3,000 metres. Exploration activity in the basin dates back to 1953, but has so far proven much less fruitful than the neighbouring Rovuma Basin, where explorers have discovered several deepwater giant gas fields in recent years. Explorers hope to uncover new oil plays in the basin.
