Repsol oil and gas exploration summary

Report summary
Repsol’s commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 sets it on a transformational strategic pathway. Exploration will remain a core part of the business as it looks to add advantaged barrels that reduce the carbon intensity of its upstream assets. The company’s future exploration will be leaner and focused as it high grades the portfolio as part of its greening strategy. It has dropped higher-risk frontier drilling, choosing to target lower-risk prospects to satisfy its key metrics for future exploration: low-cost, low-carbon with short cycle times. The Gulf of Mexico will be a top target as the company has exposure to a mix of high-impact and near-field prospect.
