Asset Report
Vietnam Nam Con Son exploration basin
Report summary
The Nam Con Son Basin is located off the southeast coast of Vietnam, and extends in an elongated NE-SW trend, parallel to the Cuu Long Basin. Water depths are typically less than 150 metres. Typhoons are relatively common in the region and this impacts drilling and production activities. Two thirds of discovered resources in the basin were found during the 1990s. Activity in recent years has refocused on near-field exploration, mainly to find additional gas. This Exploration Basin report provides a detailed analysis of exploration in the basin, including discovery and development costs, location map and information about licensing and fiscal terms. We evaluate prospective resource volume and value potential. This report is accompanied by excel downloads which detail costs, volumes and value.
