Bringing together our regional expertise in the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, Wood Mackenzie's global solar PV asset ownership report 2025 ranks the top 15 asset owners for operational solar PV capacity by year-end 2024. The report includes global rankings including Chinese entities and excluding them, as well as regional top 10 solar PV asset owner rankings for the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific. CHN Energy displaced SPIC as the biggest solar PV asset owner in the world by year-end 2024, while NextEra solidified its position atop the global ranking that excludes China for another consecutive year. Total owned capacity represented in the sans China ranking increased by 28% in 2024 compared to 2023. CHN Energy, China Huadian Corp., China Huaneng Group, SPIC, CNNC, Datang Group, CTG, NextEra, Adani Group and Ibedrola experienced the largest expansions in their solar PV owned asset portfolios in 2024.
