The presentation talked about the following points: (1) Technology disruption has already occurred as wind and solar power generation costs have fallen below those of gas in Asia Pacific. (2) This has caused China, India and other developing markets to become a focus of renewables investments, now competing in the same league as Japan and the United States in terms of penetration of renewables. (3) Policy and investment turbulence is expected to follow technology disruption, and broadening of impacts beyond the power sector.
