The capacity market in Great Britain: on to a second round
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
The second Great Britain power capacity auction will be held on 8 December 2015 for delivery in Winter 2019/20. Wood Mackenzie provides an analysis of last year's auction and of what to expect from the 2015 auction. We conclude that existing capacity will again dominate the auction. New build plants will need to bid aggressively and expect a clearing price below the £25/kW/year price taker threshold if they want to secure a capacity agreement.
