Commodity Market Report
Genscape weekly European market signposts - West Africa’s on the move, so drawing European gasoline
Report summary
This weekly update integrates Genscape’s proprietary monitoring of near-term data with Wood Mackenzie's Product Markets Short-Term analysis to provide insight to the fast-changing European oil products markets. The nuances of the gasoline market in Nigeria resulted in builds of floating storage stocks in West Africa sooner than in the main North Atlantic pricing regions, while land-based storage has remained relatively stable over the last four months. Since the beginning of May 2020 floating storage has steadily declined, whilst it built elsewhere. This may be about to change as shipping flows indicate West Africa is back on the move.
