The Magallanes Basin is home to Chile's small oil and gas industry. The country has limited indigenous supplies of natural gas. A number of blocks in the basin produce conventional oil and gas, including Fell and Lenga. All gas produced in this region is consumed here, either through the local utility or in Methanex's methanol plant. Domestic gas production has been in decline since 2008, leaving the country grappling with supply shortages and increasingly dependent on imports and LNG. ...
