Report summary

Located in the remote Australian outback, the Cooper Basin has been a mainstay of the country's hydrocarbon production for decades.  The basin, which straddles the South Australia and Queensland states, is home to over 200 oil and gas fields.  Conventional hydrocarbon production is maturing and because spare capacity is becoming available on the established infrastructure, a new wave of shale exploration activity is underway.
