The Liard Basin is located in northeastern British Columbia and extends into Yukon and the Northwest Territories. This analysis focuses solely on Liard Shale potential in British Columbia, where the vast majority of leasing and drilling activity has been concentrated. Structurally, the area is dominated by the north-trending Bovie Lake fault zone, which separates the Liard Basin on the west and the Horn River Basin on the east.
