In 1Q2013 the BLM auctioned 29 leases in Elko County, Nevada. The auction area encompassed almost 36,000 acres. Six companies successfully acquired leases, totalling US$1.3 million in bonuses. The leading explorer here is Noble Energy and the company's exploration position actually spans an area much larger than the land parcels most recently awarded.
