Asset Report
Permian Spraberry tight oil unconventional play
Report summary
The Permian-aged Spraberry is one the of earliest targeted formations in West Texas but more than seven decades of vertical drilling only yielded modest production growth. Now, operators are revisiting the tight sandstone formation with horizontal wells and modern fracturing techniques, hoping to unlock a resource play that rivals the Wolfcamp. An organic-rich shale at the base provides an extra target in the deepest basin.
