Report summary
The Perth basin is located near major domestic gas demand centres in Perth and the South West. The Perth basin has convention, tight and shale gas plays. However, there has been conventional exploration success in the Perth basin. Three LNG projects with a domestic gas obligation have also begun production. As a result, the Western Australian domestic market is well supplied. Therefore, a low level of shale gas development is expected in the Perth Basin.
