Sand Wash Niobrara tight oil unconventional play
Report summary
Small operators have been most committed to the Sand Wash and have been testing the play for oil in an effort to replicate the success of the Denver-Julesberg, however the target formation is deeper in the northwestern parts of Colorado compared to the northeastern DJ. The Sand Wash has proven, historical oil production dating back to the 1920s. In the past, vertical unstimulated wells from heavily fractured reservoirs have resulted in long-term production.
