Abu Dhabi and Dubai jointly announced the Jebel Ali gas discovery in the United Arab Emirates, with an estimated 80 tcf of gas in place. The discovery will have wide ranging impacts for the UAE gas market and is likely to be lower cost than many undeveloped fields in the country. With the UAE dependent on imports and with aspirations to become self sufficient, this super-giant field will play a key role in the future energy mix.
