The Aghar (West Razzak) oil field is located in the Western Desert, approximately 66 kilometres southwest of the El Hamra terminal.The Western Desert Operating Company (Wepco) initially targeted the Aghar prospect in 1970 but withdrew from the acreage after testing non-commercial oil. Agip (now Eni) discovered Aghar in 1985 and brought the field onstream in 1992. Aghar produced over 6,000 b/d at its peak but has declined since 2000.
