The Haliba field is located in southeast Abu Dhabi, near the border with Oman. It was discovered in 1991, but development only started in 2015. The field is operated by Al Dhafra Petroleum, a joint venture between ADNOC, KNOC and GS Energy. The partners achieved first oil in 2019 and have been gradually ramping up towards the 40,000 b/d capacity of the first development phase.
