Algeria is the second largest producer in North Africa behind Libya.  Oil/NGL production capacity for the country is expected to recover somewhat in the near term from around 1.63 million b/d in 2011 (including 0.46 million b/d of condensate/NGL) to around 1.68 million b/d in 2013, due to the development of the El Merk field. However, without fresh exploration successes and/or major new field redevelopment projects beyond those already envisaged, production is likely to continue to decline...
