The Anning and Somerville gas fields lie 30 kilometres northeast of Southwark in the Southern Gas Basin. Hartshead Resources acquired the P2607 licence in January 2021 and plans to redevelop both fields. The Somerville gas field (previously named Viking Wx) was discovered by Conoco in 1969.
