Report summary
Sinopec operates the Arman heavy oil field in southwest Kazakhstan. Arman is located next to the large Kalamkas field, operated by Mangistaumunaigaz.Oil production is now less than 1,000 b/d and will continue to decline. Development has been complicated by Arman's location in the Caspian Sea transition zone and its low-quality crude.
