The Athabasca Oil Sands Project (AOSP) is located in the Athabasca oil sands region in northeastern Alberta. AOSP currently consists of two main components: the Muskeg River and Jackpine Mines, located 75 kilometres north of Fort McMurray, and the Scotford Upgrader, located next to Shell's Scotford Refinery north of Fort Saskatchewan.
