The onshore Atora field was discovered by Elf Gabon in 1997. A development licence was carved out of the RGA exploration block, with first oil was produced in 2001. Crude is exported via the Gamba terminal, 35 kilometres southeast.Production peaked at 20,000 b/d in 2003. Continuous drilling and water injection extended the production plateau.
