Block 9-2 is located in Vietnam's Cuu Long Basin and contains the producing Ca Ngu Vang oil and gas field discovered in October 2002. The majority of the field's reserves are located in complex, fractured, granite basement reservoirs on a contiguous trend with the Bach Ho and Rong Dong fields which are rich in hydrocarbons. The field was declared commercial in April 2006 and first production was achieved in July 2008.
