The Borealis field is a western satellite of the Prudhoe Bay field on the North Slope of Alaska. The field primarily produces from the Kuparuk River Formation. The western periphery of Prudhoe Bay holds a significant heavy oil resource. Following the implementation of SB-21 in 2014, BP was evaluating a large-scale development programme that included the addition of a new pad, expansion of two existing pads, construction of additional surface facilities, and debottlenecking at facilities. ...
