BP's Khazzan secures Oman's gas future
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
Conventional gas production in Oman is set to decline from 2017, and with demand growing steadily, it faced the prospect of an imminent gas shortage. This challenge has now been answered by BP's Khazzan "tight gas" development, which was sanctioned in December 2013, and will ensure plentiful supply well beyond 2020. It is the largest unconventional greenfield gas project in the world, and will account for around 25% of Oman's gas supply by the end of the decade.
