Block 8 (Bukha Contract Area) covers the producing Bukha and West Bukha fields, located offshore near Oman's Musandam peninsula in the Strait of Hormuz. The Bukha field started producing gas and condensate in 1994. West Bukha lies across the Oman-Iran maritime boundary and is known as Hengam on the Iranian side.
