Burundi is a frontier oil and gas province with no production or discovered reserves. The country has no hydrocarbon-specific legislation, therefore our fiscal model is based on the Mining Code of 1976, which is still in force for the petroleum sector. New petroleum legislation is currently under review.The existing legislation offers a Concession regime with fixed royalty rates and income tax of 30%.
