Report summary
This section reviews named Canadian oil sands projects that we currently class as sub-commercial resources. In addition, we attribute sub-commercial resources to future phases and expansions of projects that we currently class as commercial. There are over 50 named projects that we do not currently include in our commercial outlook. The reasons for this vary project-to-project as some are awaiting regulatory approval, some require financing and others are part of a longer term development portfolio. Smaller companies endeavouring to try out innovative technologies alongside the larger existing oil sands producers own the majority of these projects. Lease detail, resource size and participation interests are included for these projects and a brief summary is also provided on each project.
