The Captain heavy oil field is situated in the Outer Moray Firth, 56 kilometres northwest of Nexen's Golden Eagle field. Chevron operates the field with a majority share of 85%. Excluding the uncertain Rosebank development, Captain is Chevron's third highest value asset in the UKCS.
