Casabe is one of Ecopetrol's legacy assets. The operator entered the block in 1975 following Shell`s relinquishment due to limited opportunities for exporting the oil. Located close to the Barrancabermeja refinery, Casabe was the first field in Colombia where secondary recovery techniques were applied. The Casabe area has four producing fields: Casabe, Casabe Sur, Peñas Blancas and Bajo Río. Among those, Casabe is the oldest and largest producer. The asset is very mature ...
