The Central Block is located onshore in Trinidad's Southern basin, in an area that was previously considered a mature oil-prone region. It contains the producing Carapal Ridge gas field, and the Baraka field, which began production in 2013. A portion of the gas is sold to Atlantic LNG, with some sales going to the domestic market as well.Gas is transported via a 12 kilometre pipeline to Petrotrin's Inniss field, where the gas enters the NGC grid.
